Degree Plan

Whether you select UTPA as your Home Campus for the online MS degree in Kinesiology, or you take courses in the traditional face-to-face classroom at UTPA, the requirements are basically the same. You must complete 36 hours of course work (12 hr core course work required by UTPA and 24 hr electives). Upon completion of 36 hours, you must satisfactorily complete a comprehensive examination of the core courses (12 hours, 4 courses) listed below and two electives. If the thesis option is selected (see Thesis Option tab) then the comprehensive examination is waved.

Core Courses (12 hours, 4 courses)

All students must complete the following for the MS degree in Kinesiology at UTPA:

• KINO 6310 - Exercise Physiology
• KINO 6340 - History & Philosophy (online UTPA fall semester)
• KINO 6370 - Introduction to Statistics
• KINO 6372 - Research Methods (online student must be taken from UTPA)
