Comprehensive Exam Dates

Students are eligible to write the comprehensive exam after completing 21 credit hours of required core courses and 9 credit hours of required research courses, and must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours the semester when they write the comprehensive exam. The comprehensive exam is administered twice a year, usually in November and March, over a two-day period. Students will be tested in six domains.

Fall 2016 comprehensive exams will be administered in October.


Saturday exam times (Domain A, B & C)

8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Domain - Leadership, organizational theory, and change
10:05 a.m.- 12:05 p.m. Domain B - Research applications (qualitative and quantitative)

12:05 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. (lunch)

12:45 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. Domain C - School and university culture

Sunday exam times (Domain D, E, & F)

8:00 p.m.– 10:00 a.m. Domain D - Policy, politics, and ethics

10:05 a.m. – 12:05 p.m. Domain E- Law, finance, and economics

12:05 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. (lunch)

12:45 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. Domain F - Comparative and international education

Students will meet with the comprehensive exam proctor at 7:45 a.m. each respective day lunch will be provided.
