The TExES Coordinator assists teacher candidates in preparation for the Texas Examinations of Educator Standards (TExES), provides review sessions and workshops on test-taking strategies, coordinates preparation efforts between students, professors, and the College of Education Instructional Team.

Texas law requires all individuals seeking educator certification to pass examinations in the areas in which they seek certification. Teacher candidates admitted to the UTPA College of Education are required to take a TExES Representative Exam (Practice Test) for their respective degree plan.
