Major in Mexican American Studies

Major Requirements (36 HOURS)

REQUIRED CORE COURSES (15 HOURS)

  • MASC 2301/ MCLL 2301: Introduction to Mexican America Studies

  • MASC 3332/HIST 3332: Mexican American History
  •  6 hours of SPAN at any level
  • MASC 4300 Learning & Reflective Service (Capstone Experience)

REQUIRED FLEXIBLE COURSES (12 HOURS)

  • 6 Hours from MASC Humanities Courses

  • 6 Hours from MASC Core Social Behavioral Sciences, Education, and/or Health Sciences Courses

ELECTIVES (9 HOURS)

  • 9 Hours of Electives.

New courses and special topics courses appear all of the time. Any course with a minimum 50% MAS content may be petitioned as part of a students’ degree plan.
