Master of Arts in English
The MA in English offers a wide range of coursework in literature, cultural studies, rhetoric, and composition, that prepares students for Ph.D. programs, to teach at the secondary or college level, or work in publishing or technical writing
- Dr. Caroline Miles (2012) and Dr. Linda Belau (2011) received the University of Texas System Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award Honorees.
- In Spring 2010 we received a $400,000 Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Grant for Developmental Education Demonstration Projects for Public Universities.
- Dr. Rebecca Mitchell published: Modern Love and Poems of the English Roadside, with Poems and Ballads.
- Dr. Steven Schneider published: The Contemporary Narrative Poem.
Time to Degree: Two years for full-time students
Total Credit Hours: 33 hours thesis option; 36 hours non-thesis option
