Art Education

The BA Degree with All Level Certification Art Education Program is an art intense program that deals with an Anti-Bias Curriculum, social theory and social justice issues as it applies to Art Education within the public school system.


This program is designed to strengthen you skills as an artist and as teacher in public school programs. You will be taught the skills needed to operate and function as an artist in a professional teaching environment.

Art Education students are an integral part of a rich border region. In Art Education classes at The University of Texas-Pan American, faculties nurture each individual art student to develop and become a vibrant source of creativity

from their own personal vision and expression. Upon obtaining and maintaining these artistic skills, Art Education graduates are able to integrate art into the primary and secondary classroom levels in an aesthetic and educational form.

Admission to the College of Education (COE) teacher education programs is required for all undergraduate students seeking teacher certification. Students following all-level certification degree plans (grades EC-12) should consult with their adviser in the department in which their degree is offered. They should also seek admission requirements and information from the COE Office of Teacher Certification and Admission Services at the Education Complex, Room 3.102. Choose any two upper division studio art courses.
Choose any two upper division art history courses.
Choose any two upper division courses in art or university-wide.
 
Advanced Education Hours 21 hrs.
 
The professional education courses for all-level certification include the following: EDUC 4301, EDUC 4302, EDUC 4303, EDUC 4304, READ 4351, and EDUC 4611.
