Our Mission
The Center for Online Learning, Teaching & Technology, a department of the Division of Academic Affairs, supports and fulfills the mission of the University of Texas-Pan American by providing services and facilities that promote, support, and integrate best pedagogical practices in applied technologies in teaching, learning, and research for traditional and web-based learning offerings.

The Center for Online Learning, Teaching & Technology strives to become a center of excellence for educational technology through supporting, initiating and implementing applied research for integration of technology in the curriculum.
Our History
One of the many challenges faced by UTPA, since its founding in 1927, has been to provide higher education access to the people of a bicultural, international borderland that includes the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, and the Northeastern regions of Mexico.
In responding to that challenge, The University made a commitment years ago to embrace technology as a primary means of reaching out to this geographically and culturally diverse population.
Today, The University Of Texas-Pan American is recognized as a leader in the use of technology to deliver quality higher education programming to its predominantly Hispanic service area.
