This Introductory Certificate Program is designed to give you the working knowledge of Photoshop and apply it to your own images and designs. Mr. Ivan Silva, Photoshop
Mr. Silva is an educator with a background as a creative director who provides instruction for Adobe Photoshop and related media through the Office of Continuing Education. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with an emphasis in Advertising and Public Relations, and a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from UT-Pan American. At the present time Ivan serves as an educator for the La Joya I.S.D. and as Creative Director and Communication Consultant at Iconic Deity D.H. Iván provides services to businesses in the South Texas region in social media strategy, online communication, creative brand design and functional user interface design. Ivan holds over twelve years of experience of working and professional experience in management, sales and marketing.
His portfolio of work extends into print media, online advertisement, publishing, website design and graphic design. Ivan’s repertoire of working software knowledge includes:

Mr. Alex Garrido, HTML
Alex Garrido graduated from UTPA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with emphasis in Marketing. After graduation he received a web application development certification from the University of Houston-Downtown and started working with one of the largest and most respected web design firms in Houston, 21 Century SEO. He became an independent contractor and started his own web design company. His client base includes a major hotel chain in California, the largest luxury real estate agency in Austin, and the biggest fuel buyers’ conference in the US, along with small businesses in over 30 different fields. He co-founded Red Ant Digital, the first exclusively-digital marketing agency in the Rio Grande Valley. Alex’s main area of interest is search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) and the writes a weekly blog about SEO experiments and optimization tactics. He is certified in Google Adwords and Google Analytics. Alex has been an instructor for Office of Continuing Education since June 2013.
Ms. Josie de la Tejera, MFA Candidate, Dreamweaver
Josefina De La Tejera is an instructional developer for the Center for Online Learning, Teaching and Technology at the University of Texas-Pan American. She has 10 years of experience in the instructional design and development field. She is responsible for faculty support, design and development of online, augmented and hybrid courses. Ms. De La Tejera holds a B.S. degree from UTPA and is currently a Master's in Fine Arts - 2D design candidate.

The Certificate Program is composed of 3 stand alone courses that are 8 hours of instruction each. The certificate program is a total of 24 hours of instruction. Registration is available for the certificate program as a whole or for individual courses.
