Preparatory Courses Required
What preparation is recommended for high school students before entering the department of Manufacturing Engineering?
High school students wishing to study manufacturing engineering at UT Pan American are advised to have the following minimum high school preparation:
- Algebra I & II (2 yrs)
- Precalculus (1/2 yr)
- Plane Geometry (1 yr)
- Trigonometry (1/2 yr)
- Physics (1 yr)
- General Chemistry (1 yr)
- Intro to Computers & Programming (1 yr)
High school students with insufficient science or math backgrounds can improve their skills before entering the engineering program at UT Pan American by taking a series of courses offered at the University or their local community college.
