What Career Options Are Open To Manufacturing Engineering Graduates?

Manufacturing engineers are needed in every industry that produces any product. Industries that have hired our graduates includes computers, electronics, automotive, aerospace, chemical and plastics. Most manufacturing engineering jobs are located in major cities where there are heavy concentrations of industries. There is a special need for manufacturing engineers in the Rio Grande Valley and Latin American countries.

What About Working While Studying Engineering and Finding Work After Graduation?

The College of Science and Engineering employs a full-time placement specialist who works with students to find permanent employment upon graduation, as will as internship and cooperative education opportunities while still in school. A very high percentage of UT Pan American students hold at least one summer engineering internship with a major corporation before graduation. These jobs provide valuable experience, as well as earnings that help to cover school expenses. In addition to outside employment options, the faculty generally have a number of research and development programs that employ students as laboratory assistants or engineering interns.
